In Artists > [artist] > Settings > Profile you record the information with which you present the artist to the outside world. This information is used on the public profile page, in the press kit, and – for authorized connections – in the API. The press kit files themselves are managed separately, via Press Kit.
Description
Fill in the text here that helps visitors to quickly recognize and understand the artist.
- Short description is a brief characterization or pitch, for example, the genre, the lineup, or the type of performance. This is displayed next to the artist's name on the public profile page and in the header of the press kit.
- Biography is the detailed text about the artist. On the public profile page, this appears in the Biography section; in the press kit, the same text appears as Bio. Use line breaks to make the text readable.
The short description and biography are therefore not internal notes: write them as you want a booker, client, or press contact to read them.
Public Profile Page
In Profile Page, you see the unique link to the public artist page. You can either copy that link or open it directly. The page shows the presentation of the artist within the agency's environment.
With Profile is publicly available, you determine whether this page is accessible via the link. If you turn off the option, the public profile page will not be available. This setting is only visible to the owner of an exclusive artist; team members cannot change this setting independently.
The public profile page uses, when that information is filled in:
- the cover as a wide image in the header;
- the profile photo, artist name, and short description in the header of the page;
- the biography in the Biography section;
- blog links in the Blog section.
Images
- Profile is the recognizable image of the artist. This is displayed on the public profile page and at the top of the press kit. The image is also the standard image that the API returns for an artist.
- Cover is the broad atmospheric image for the header of the public profile page. In the API, this is available separately as a cover image.
Choose images that you are allowed to use externally. Changing or deleting an image works by clicking on the places where that image is displayed.
Web Links
Add external links under Web Links, such as the website, social channels, Spotify, or YouTube. For each link, you can set a title and URL; Artwin Live also recognizes a suitable platform icon where possible.
These links are shown in the press kit as clickable links with icons. They are also available in the API, so a linked website or app can display the same references.
Blog Links
Use Blog Links for articles, news items, reviews, or other editorial pages about the artist. Give each link a clear title so that visitors know what they are opening.
On the public profile page, these links appear in the Blog section. Blog links are also provided as titles and URLs via the API. They are slightly different from web links: blog links are intended for substantive articles; web links for general external channels of the artist.
Relation to the Press Kit
The press kit is a separate public presentation with downloadable files, folders, and an option to download the entire press kit. You manage the contents of those files under Press Kit, not on the Profile tab.
The profile data gives the press kit its context: the press kit displays the profile photo, name, short description, biography, and web links. This way, the basic information and your press materials remain consistent in one presentation. A cover image or blog link does not automatically become a press kit file; therefore, also add images, texts, or documents that journalists should be able to download as a file to the press kit.
Retrieve Profile Data with the API
You can also retrieve the profile data via the Artwin Live API. For this, you need a valid API token with permission to view artists. Please refer to the API documentation for available requests, authentication, and examples.
The detail request returns, among other things, the short description, biography, profile image, cover image, public profile page, press kit link, riders, web links, and blog links. If the public profile page is disabled, the API does not return a profile page link. This way, a website, app, or other link can use the current profile information from Artwin Live without having to re-enter this data.
