Spotlight: Today Music

“More overview, more room to focus on creativity”

In this Artwin Live Spotlight, we speak with JP van der Sluis, managing director of Today Music, but better known to many as Peter Douglas, the Dutch Frank Sinatra. In his role, he combines artist management, bookings, and the production of events and theatre shows.

At Today Music, they work across a wide range of activities: from management and bookings to concept development and guiding artists on a strategic level. This means working with multiple artists and projects simultaneously, where structure and clarity are essential.

Before switching to Artwin Live, they worked with another system. While it worked in principle, they increasingly felt the need for more overview and a way of working that better fits their day-to-day operations.

“We realized we needed more overview and a system that better supports the way we work with multiple artists and projects.”

Since then, Artwin Live has become the foundation of their daily workflow. The biggest difference lies in the time savings and having all processes combined in one system.

“From managing schedules for multiple artists to creating contracts and invoices, the entire process now lives in one system. It makes our workflow much more efficient.”

In practice, they mainly rely on planning, bookings, and invoicing — the core of their day-to-day work. But the impact goes beyond functionality; it also improves flexibility.

“We especially notice the difference in collaborating with other agencies and being able to work on the go. Through the app, we can quickly make adjustments, manage bookings, or check an artist’s availability at any time.”

Having everything centralized creates a clear overview, especially when managing multiple acts at once.

“We can switch much faster and have far more overview. That means we spend less time on administration and have more room to focus on the creative side of our work.”

According to them, the real strength of Artwin Live becomes clear as an agency grows and works with multiple artists or team members.

“Once you’re managing several projects at the same time, you really start to see the value of having everything in one central system.”

Even in small, practical moments, the platform proves its value.

“Especially when you’re on the move and need to check something quickly. Looking up availability or adjusting a booking on the spot, those are the moments where it really makes a difference.”

Looking ahead, they are particularly interested in further automation within the platform, such as notifications and reminders that can streamline processes even more.

“Things like automatic reminders for unsigned contracts or alerts for outstanding payments would save even more time and make the workflow even more efficient.”

In this Artwin Live Spotlight series, we continue to speak with agencies and artists to give a real-world view of how they organize their work and the role Artwin Live plays in it.
