Introduction
Every booking involves more than just an artist’s fee. You also manage agreements, booking costs, margins, purchase costs, and sometimes the payment of copyright royalties (BUMA). With Artwin Live, you can automate these financial details: saving time, avoiding errors, and keeping your entire process consistent and transparent.
What is a Budget in Artwin Live?

A budget forms the financial foundation of each booking. It defines the standard agreement between artist, agency, and client, including the artist fee, booking costs, margins, purchase items, and deal terms.
By creating standard budgets per artist, you can load predefined deals into new bookings with a single click. This saves time, reduces mistakes, and ensures consistent contracts and invoices.
You can create multiple budgets for the same artist, for example: For different show durations or setups (solo, duo, or band).
In short: budgets help automate the financial side of your bookings.
Automatically calculating copyright royalties (BUMA)

Many agencies pay copyright royalties on behalf of their artists. In the Netherlands, this is done by an organization called BumaStemra, abbreviated to BUMA. Artwin Live helps automate this process by calculating BUMA automatically based on the artist’s fee.
For each booking, you can specify how royalties are handled:
When you select Calculate BUMA or Purchase via agency, Artwin Live automatically calculates the correct amount and displays it on both the contract and invoice.
In the overview under Bookings → BUMA, you’ll find all bookings where royalties apply, including the calculation base, amounts, and current status.
From this same overview, you can generate a ready-to-send Excel export for BumaStemra, making your reporting simple and accurate.
Why does this matter?
By using budgets and automated BUMA calculations, you gain:
Artwin Live helps you manage your financials with more clarity, confidence, and efficiency.
